About my Passion for :
Theater
My passion for Theater started as child where I fell in love with musicals, dancing and singing (although it wasn’t my strongest talent). I joined local children’s theater in early middle-school and did auditions and small shows up until my freshman year of high-school where I transitioned to the Technical side of the stage and I never looked back. I fell in love with every aspect of the backstage world from set painting and building, to working as a stagehand, to programming the sound board and helping out with the lighting team. I decided to pursue this passion to a greater level by expanding my studies at Savannah College of Art and Design, where I studied Production Design. Here I learned skills such as prop making, model making, and set design. I mainly worked alongside classmate passion projects for photography sets, but my greatest feat was working on the first ever XR stage production at the University. Here I worked with a team to paint and decorate the set with props. Unfortunately, going to school during the pandemic limited my ability to work in shows throughout my time at SCAD, however, I was able to rediscover these similar skills in my current position as a set painter and production artist at the Event Design company, Amaryllis.
About my Passion for :
Teaching
Teaching was actually the first job I ever had. Back as a young 14 year old, I started teaching swim lessons to the kids who wanted to join the swim team. I kept up this position until I was 25, teaching people of all ages and skill levels how to tackle their greatest aquatic oppositions. During my time on the swim team, I would also help assistant coach during practices to allow for more personal training time for the kids. I currently work alongside the teens ministry at The Greater Fellowship in Woodbridge Va to help build the community between the youth as well as support and guide them through their understanding of their walk with Christ.
